The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) has reported a loss of GH¢3.7 million due to illegal power connections in the Northern Region.
This alarming figure is a substantial portion of the GH¢4.1 million in total losses experienced across NEDCo’s entire operational area.
Osman Ayuba, Managing Director of NEDCo, presented these findings to the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament on Monday, August 12. He revealed that 627 summonses have been issued to offenders, with the Northern Region accounting for 473 of these cases. So far, 103 individuals have been served.
